I spent 5 days in Durres, Albania in the Adriatik Hotel, which is considered to be a 5-star hotel under the Best Western Premium Collection. The guest services attendant gave me a tour of the hotel and told me that it used to be that only dignitaries were allowed to stay at the hotel. The backside of the hotel opens up to a private sandy beach on the Adriatic Sea. My room faces the beach and was a great spot for people watch or the waves crashing at night with the windows open.

I had already decided that there wasn’t anything I cared to see in the city center. I spent time in the and around the hotel. I would go out for walks along the beach. There was a padded walkway or a cemented pathway that stretched for miles. I walked as far as 2 miles before heading back and also having lunch at a couple of the restaurants on the pathway.

I also took advantage of this time to catch-up on this website. I have been behind on at least 3 countries. I am now up-to-date.

Hope you enjoy the few pictures I took on my walks or from my view.
